Responsibilities

Supervise maintenance staff and assign tasks in the absence of the Assistant Chief Engineer
Perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
Conduct regular inspections of mechanical equipment rooms and building systems
Implement and improve preventive maintenance programs and safety procedures
Coordinate maintenance efforts with contractors and vendors
Maintain accurate engineering reports, equipment manuals, and as-built drawings
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and company policies
Respond promptly to emergency situations and tenant concerns
Maintain ongoing communication with tenants, property management, and vendors
Ensure mechanical rooms and equipment are properly labeled, clean, and safe
Participate in staff performance reviews and training initiatives
Administer inventory control systems and ensure proper documentation
Remain proficient in C&W Engineering Standards and operational aspects of building systems
Complete all mandatory compliance training and ensure staff participation

Required

High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum 5 years of experience in a commercial property setting
Universal Technician Certification for CFCs
Appropriate trade licenses (e.g., Journeyman or Master Electrician)
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word
Ability to work independently, including shift work and on-call duties
Capable of lifting 50 lbs., climbing, stooping, and working in varied environments
Ability to read schematics and technical documentation
Ability to stoop, stand, climb, and lift equipment (minimum 50 lbs.)
Regular movement between departments, floors, and properties
Clear verbal communication and reading comprehension
Visual acuity for reading printed materials, drawings, and schematics
