Responsibilities
Assists in the preparation of drawings for the renewal, removal or addition of signal and crossing equipment
Participates in studies of equipment at field locations to prepare detailed drawings
Determines type and amount of materials and labor required to complete various projects and prepares necessary documents
Assists in the design and modification of circuits for signal and related equipment
Inspects signal equipment to ensure proper operations
Participates in studies of problematic units and parts to determine causes for malfunctions and suitable corrective action
Prepares operating instructions for new types of equipment
Maintains files and records of tracings, drawings and other project data
Performs related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Required to possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a combination of education and approximately 1 year experience relating to this position
Valid Illinois Driver's License
Detailed knowledge of basic electricity and electronic circuits
Working knowledge of C or similar programming language
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Preferred
Experience with CAD preferred
