Early Career - Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer
Askari Defense is focused on developing autonomous systems for national security, aiming to counter unmanned aerial threats. They are seeking early-career engineers to work on Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems, where the role involves hands-on development from theoretical modeling to real-time software implementation.
Defense & Space
Responsibilities
Implement advanced guidance laws and trajectory optimization for high-speed interceptors operating across highly nonlinear, high-dynamic flight regimes
Support development of target tracking and GPS-contested navigation, using multimodal sensor fusion (KF-variants, real-time filters, factor graphs, etc.) to ensure robust performance in dynamic environments
Assist in the design of high-performance active control systems (LQR, MPC, etc.) for highly maneuverable, aerodynamically unstable vehicles
Qualification
Required
BS or MS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
Demonstrated capability to build and close the loop on high-performance hardware (e.g., Formula SAE, collegiate rocketry (L3), UAV competitions, or high-signal internships)
Proficiency in C++ for on-vehicle implementation and Python for analysis and simulation
Ability to travel as necessary to support rigorous flight testing at the range
