Social-Emotional Learning Consultant for Preschools
Sequential Development Consulting (SDC) is seeking an experienced mental health and/or psychology professional to support early childhood programs serving children ages 0–6. The role involves delivering professional development trainings and providing consultation and coaching to preschool teaching teams on various topics related to social-emotional learning and child development.

Responsibilities
Deliver professional development trainings for preschool teaching teams on topics such as social-emotional learning, child development, classroom behavioral dynamics, and mental health
Provide consultation and coaching to teachers and leadership on topics including:
Supporting neurodivergent children in inclusive classrooms
Preventing and responding to challenging behavior
Strengthening peer relationships and child–teacher relational dynamics
Supporting children and families impacted by stress and trauma
Conduct classroom observations to assess how environments, routines, and adult practices support children’s social-emotional development and regulation
Translate observations into practical strategies for teams (e.g., clear recommendations, scripts, and next steps)
Qualification
Required
Professional experience supporting children ages 0–6 in a mental health, psychology, or related early childhood setting
Training and/or strong working knowledge in one or more of the following: Attachment-based approaches, Child–Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Other relevant child/family therapy modalities
Preferred
Experience in Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (ECMHC) strongly preferred
Licensed mental health professional (e.g., LMFT, LPCC, LCSW), though licensure is not required if you bring deep relevant experience and demonstrated expertise in the areas above
