Tax Preparation Specialist
Legacy Offices is seeking a Tax Preparation Specialist who will play a critical role in preparing tax filings and assisting with tax planning initiatives. This position requires maintaining tax preparation priorities and delivering excellent service to individual, business, and partnership clients.

Responsibilities
Maintain tax preparation priorities, deliverables, and deadlines
Prepare personal, business and partnership returns
Work with efficiency and effectiveness
Work independently or as part of a team
Train on and adapt to different processes and methods
Duties include but are not limited to workpaper write-ups, obtaining and saving client documents, journal entries, and some bookkeeping
Provide supporting documentation for audits
Assist with month-end closing
Update and reconcile the sub-ledger to the general ledger
Develop and maintain best practices
Recommend process improvements and support implementation of accounting system upgrades
Ensure compliance with accounting, tax and regulatory requirements
Other job-related projects as requested by the CFO
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or 5 years relevant experience
Minimum of 3 years of tax accounting experience preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP and both for-profit and nonprofit tax principles
Proficiency with tax preparation software such as Lacerte and accounting software (Odoo, Sage, NetSuite, Dynamics, or similar) and advanced Google Sheets/Excel skills
Commitment to integrity, accuracy, clarity, tact and confidentiality
Preferred
Prior experience in nonprofit and small business accounting
Experience in a multi-entity or consolidated accounting environment
