Director of Development, Ability Now Bay Area (Oakland)
Ability Now Bay Area is an organization that supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Director of Development is responsible for leading the fundraising strategy, overseeing donor engagement, and developing marketing initiatives to strengthen long-term revenue growth for the organization.

Responsibilities
Lead revenue strategy development, implementation, and operations across non-governmental revenue sources
Develop and execute individual and institutional giving, grants, events, and pipeline development initiatives
Develop and implement a marketing and brand strategy to elevate ANBA’s mission visibility
Responsible for a comprehensive donor stewardship program through communication, events, and personal outreach
Cultivate partnerships and relationships that generate new revenue opportunities
Develop and implement short-, intermediate-, and long-term solicitation strategies for top prospects
Partner with leadership and the Board to develop and achieve annual revenue goals
Recruit, supervise, and mentor development staff, volunteers, and consultants
Support Board members in donor engagement, solicitation, and stewardship
Participate in Board and Committee recruitment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Passion for supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Track record of meeting ambitious fundraising goals
Four years of success managing fundraising programs, including major gifts
Strong leadership, strategy development, and team management skills
Superior communication and presentation skills
Success engaging board members and high-level volunteers
Experience in PR, communications, marketing, and digital media
Business planning experience and strong business acumen
Supervisory experience of at least one year required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRMs, and research tools
High ethical and professional standards
Valid driver's license and personal vehicle for business use
Ability to operate a motor vehicle in compliance with California law
Ability to sit for up to two hours at a time
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Visual acuity for computer and reading tasks
