Asia Society India Centre is a think tank focused on policy challenges in the Asia Pacific region. They are seeking a Communications and Engagement Manager to enhance the visibility and impact of their research on China, blending strategic communications with policy fluency.

Responsibilities
Help develop and implement a communications strategy to amplify CCA’s research, events, and publications across multiple channels
Partner with leadership to shape messaging and positioning that reflect CCA’s “inside-out” mission to offer evidence-based, independent, and policy-relevant analysis with balanced, and policy-relevant analysis
Identify opportunities to position CCA experts in media and public debates and provide guidance as needed
Convert CCA’s research and insights into compelling, accessible content — including briefs, newsletters, and digital posts — tailored to policy, business, and thought-leadership audiences
Edit and refine written outputs to ensure clarity, tone, and alignment with institutional voice
Manage CCA’s newsletters (e.g., China 5, PLA Watch, internal newsletter), coordinating with authors and reviewers, editing content, and overseeing publication. Drive strategy for audience growth and new products through email marketing and creative engagement
Copy-edit reports and documents as needed
Help support ASPI's media staff with placements and monitoring as needed
Manage CCA’s digital presence and outreach (website, social channels, newsletters) and develop strategy for growing audiences and engagement
Coordinate internal and external communications, draft press releases, newsletter blurbs, and social media posts, and ensure smooth collaboration across teams for clear, consistent, and timely messaging
Work closely with Asia Society and ASPI's communications colleagues to ensure consistency and brand coherence
Develop content calendars and manage campaign rollouts tied to major reports and events
Coordinate communications for major public events, private roundtables, and report launches, ensuring accurate messaging and broad reach
Support thought-leadership initiatives
Track and analyze key performance indicators (media hits, social engagement, newsletter open rates) and provide regular insights and recommendations to leadership
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or master's degree in Journalism, Communications, Asian Studies, International Relations, or similar field
3-4 years of progressively responsible experience in communications, preferably in a think tank, research institute, or policy organization
Demonstrated familiarity with China's domestic and foreign policy debates; Chinese language proficiency strongly preferred
Proven ability to translate complex policy research into accessible, impactful messaging for multiple audiences
Exceptional English writing, editing, and storytelling skills
Experience developing and executing digital and media strategies; fluency with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meltwater, Sprout, etc.)
Strong interpersonal skills and professional judgment; ability to handle sensitive topics with discretion
Highly organized self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
