Structural Engineer (PE)
DDC Developments is a vertically integrated development and construction company seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer (PE) to join their team. This role involves leading structural design strategies and serving as the structural authority throughout project delivery, ensuring compliance and efficiency in all systems.
Responsibilities
Lead structural design strategy from feasibility through Construction Documents
Ensure all systems are code-compliant, efficient, buildable, and cost-conscious
Drive early value engineering to protect budgets and schedules
Coordinate closely with Architecture, MEP, Civil, and Geotechnical consultants
Serve as the in-house structural authority during construction:
Review RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals
Provide field clarifications and inspection support
Conduct site visits and resolve structural issues proactively
Review and evaluate structural change orders and claims
Enforce QA/QC standards to minimize defects and liability exposure
Advise development and construction leadership on:
Structural risk
Budget and schedule impacts
System selection and feasibility
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license
5+ years of experience in structural design and construction administration
Experience with residential, multifamily, and mixed-use developments
Strong knowledge of Florida Building Codes (Miami / Miami-Dade preferred)
Proven experience reviewing RFIs, shop drawings, and change orders
Strong constructability and cost-driven design mindset
Fluent in English and Spanish
