Responsibilities

Provide subject matter expert in the areas of Enterprise Risk Management and Internal Controls to prepare and complete internal control evaluations in order for FE to meet the annual requirements of the Federal Managers' Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA)

Establish the control environment at the Entity level, monitor the application of Internal controls and project management for FE

Conduct the risk assessment and preparing, in accordance with OMB guidance, the risk profile for the Office; testing the design and operating effectiveness of the internal controls for all major business processes; drafting the annual FFMIA attestation of the Assistant Secretary of Fossil Energy; preparing the annual Entity Profile, Financial Management and Financial Systems Assessments, and suggesting improvements to major business processes within FE

Reviewing, monitoring, and inspecting the work of other contract personnel, or the supervision of contract personnel

Work on very complex and/or sensitive issues related to the Performance Work Statement

Required

A minimum of ten (10) years of experience that is relevant and directly related to managing and expertise level is required

Knowledge of Federal, DOE, and the Office of Fossil Energy is required

A BS or BA degree (or an additional six (6) years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree) in a discipline that relates to the Performance Work Statement is required

A C.P.A. is required

Preferred

An M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting is strongly preferred

Other certifications such as a G.F.M. (Certified Government Financial Manager) or C.G.M.A. (Chartered Global Management Accountant) is strongly preferred

Other relevant professional development courses and training related to the Government, Management & subject matter is desirable
