As a Roadway Engineer, you will take on complex design responsibilities, develop horizontal and vertical alignments, and perform geometric calculations while mentoring entry-level engineers.

Responsibilities

Use AASHTO Greenbook, Roadside Design Guide, DOT Standards, and other guidelines and memos to develop design criteria

Understand and apply geometric and roadside safety policies to design transportation projects including interstates and interchanges, new location roadways, roadway widenings, intersection improvements, bridge replacements, and multi-modal projects

Develop signing and pavement marking and traffic control plans in conformance with MUTCD

Produce plans using OpenRoads Designer (ORD)

Prepare construction estimates

Develop bid documents including special provisions
