Responsibilities

Curriculum Development: Design and update comprehensive law courses that reflect the latest industry trends and academic standards
Teaching Excellence: Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions across a variety of law subjects, incorporating cutting-edge technologies and software
Student Assessment: Create and evaluate examinations, assignments, and projects to gauge student knowledge and skills, providing constructive feedback
Research Contribution: Conduct and publish impactful research in the field of laws, and supervise student research projects and theses
Professional Development: Remain current with technological advancements and pedagogical strategies through continued education and active participation in academic communities
Community and Industry Engagement: Collaborate with industry experts to ensure curriculum relevance and foster opportunities for student placements
Mentorship: Offer academic advice and personal mentorship to students, guiding them towards academic and professional success

Required

Candidates must hold a Doctorate (PhD), Master's and Bachelor's Degree in Laws from a recognised university
A Minimum CGPA of 3.0 in Bachelor's Degree
Malaysian applicants are welcome to apply, fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment
Candidates Must Possess a Strong Foundation And Knowledge In Laws
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
All candidates must have obtained Credits in Bahasa Malaysia and English Language (including oral examination) at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level OR equivalent qualification recognized by the Government (for Malaysian citizens)
IELTS Band 6 / MUET Band 4. Candidate without any of these qualification will be required to sit for the IIUM English Language Proficiency Test

Preferred

Prior experience in teaching and research in the higher education sector is an added advantage
Proficiency Or Specialization In Any Of The Following Areas Is Highly Desirable: Civil Law Department (Land Law, Company Law, Criminal Law, Equity & Trust, Banking Law, Revenue Law, Land Use & Planning), Islamic Law Department (Law of Probate, Law of Succession, Family Law, Islamic Family Law, Islamic Legal System, Islamic Criminal Law), Legal Practice Department (Criminal Litigation, Civil Litigation, Conveyancing)
A strong track record of published research and participation in the academic community is highly desirable
Candidate who possess good command of written and spoken Arabic Language is an advantage
