They are seeking a SQL Developer to design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs that interact with SQL Server databases, while ensuring performance and scalability of SQL Server-backed APIs.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs that interact with SQL Server databases

Write and optimize complex T-SQL queries , stored procedures, and functions to support API operations

Develop and manage Azure Data Factory pipelines for data ingestion and orchestration

Integrate APIs with ADF pipelines using REST, HTTP, or database connectors

Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of SQL Server–backed APIs

Implement data validation, error handling, logging, and exception management

Optimize SQL Server database performance through indexing, query tuning, and best practices

Collaborate with front-end, application, and data teams to define API and data requirements

Support data migration and integration solutions involving on-prem and Azure environments

Maintain API and database technical documentation

Follow security, governance, and compliance standards for APIs and databases

Required

Proven experience as a SQL Developer, API Developer, or Backend Developer

Strong expertise in SQL Server and T-SQL

Experience developing RESTful APIs (e.g., .NET Web API, Java, or similar)

Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory

Knowledge of ETL/ELT concepts and data integration patterns

Experience with SQL Server performance tuning and optimization

Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, API keys, etc.)

Familiarity with Azure SQL Database or SQL Managed Instance
