This role involves both pre-award estimating and post-award project management, ensuring that customer needs are translated into actionable solutions.

Responsibilities
Translate customer conversations into detailed scopes of work
Draft subcontractor scopes and source pricing
Compile self-perform labor estimates and materials lists
Develop clear, compelling customer proposals with the Account Executive or PM
Finalize system design and complete materials lists, prioritizing long-lead items
Coordinate equipment submittals and initiate fabrication releases
Develop and maintain full project schedules, managing critical paths and interdependencies
Lead ongoing customer communication and attend construction meetings
Prepare prefabrication drawings, equipment layouts, and P&IDs
Oversee installation progress, troubleshoot issues, and update schedules
Assemble closeout documentation and facilitate final handover
Use CAD and PDFs for design and takeoffs
Build and refine estimating spreadsheets with advanced logic
Estimate budgets, track job costs, and monitor progress
Develop modular quoting tools for scalable project estimating
Ensure estimates are fully aligned with execution plans, from materials to manpower
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Welding, or Materials Engineering
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
Estimating experience with pipe welding and fabrication required
Proficiency with CAD and PDFs for layouts and takeoffs
Strong understanding of technical drawings, material takeoffs, and construction processes
Proven ability to build or customize estimating tools and logic-based spreadsheets
Experience with project scheduling, logistics, and interdependency management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable guiding customers toward clarity and confident decision-making
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to own projects from start to finish
Preferred
Industrial refrigeration experience highly preferred
