Responsibilities
Architect, implement, and refine advanced computer vision and machine learning algorithms and systems
Work with a team of engineers, ensuring technical excellence and fostering a culture of innovation, and mission driven solutions
Drive the end-to-end development process, from ideation to deployment, of CV solutions tailored for space and terrestrial applications
Conduct thorough testing and validation of perception systems in real-world scenarios, ensuring reliability and performance
Collaborate with software and control teams to seamlessly integrate vision systems into larger autonomy solutions
Stay informed on emerging technologies and methodologies in computer vision and machine learning and translate them into practical applications at iMETALX
Qualification
Required
7+ years of professional experience in software engineering or applied computer vision/machine learning
Strong command of Python and C++, and demonstrated ability to develop production-grade systems
Proven experience in computer vision, robotics perception, autonomous systems, or related fields, with a focus on reliability and performance
Ability and willingness to work on-site in Sausalito, CA
U.S. citizenship due to ITAR export-control restrictions; only U.S. citizens are eligible for this position
Preferred
Prior experience with robotics, autonomous vehicles, drones, or other SWaP-constrained systems
Familiarity with simulation tools, cloud computing, and complex API integrations
Experience with GPU programming (CUDA) or optimization of computer vision algorithms
Hands-on experience with advanced perception frameworks or technologies
Experience with Space Systems
