Electrophysiologist-HT + Data
Fluxion Therapeutics is a pioneer in industrial patch-clamp data analytics, seeking a domain expert to bridge traditional electrophysiology with next-generation machine learning models. The role involves curating and annotating datasets to train and refine ML models, requiring expertise in electrophysiology and basic machine learning.
Responsibilities
ML Model Annotation: Survey public domain literature and repositories (e.g., CiPA Open Data, BioStudies) to identify and annotate high-quality electrophysiology datasets
Gold-Standard Curation: Act as the "ground truth" expert by manually labeling ion channel data (QC pass/fail, kinetic parameters, artifact identification) for training ML architectures
Computational Strategy: Utilize Python to script data ingestion pipelines and perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) on large-scale patch-clamp datasets
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work directly with the Data Science team to translate biological nuances into technical features for ScorpION(c)
Qualification
Required
Education: PhD or MS in Physiology, Neuroscience, Biophysics, or a related quantitative life science
Electrophysiology: 3+ years of hands-on experience with patch-clamp, preference for Automated Patch-Clamp (APC) platforms (e.g., IonFlux, Nanion, Sophion)
Technical Literacy: Proficiency in Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn) for data manipulation
Preferred
Pre-clinical toxicology studies, specifically ion channel safety pharmacology (hERG, NaV1.5, CaV1.2), ideally CiPA initiative
Experience with Explainable AI (XAI) in a biological context
Familiarity with MATLAB-based electrophysiology analysis suites
