OEM Account Engineer
Eaton is a global technology leader in power management, and they are seeking an OEM Account Engineer. This role involves providing technical support for customers purchasing engineered products, managing customer inquiries, and ensuring product specifications are met throughout the sales process.

Responsibilities
Assist customers and field sales personnel in interpreting product specifications and drawings requirements (this presale stage is approximately 40% of the role’s time)
For example: Powell Industries (Powell as a customer of Eaton) needs a quotation from Eaton for a Motor Control Center that will be installed at their IPA an oil refinery. The OEM Engineer reviews the specifications and uses Eaton’s proprietary Bid Manager software to configure it and determine internal components
Assist customers after receiving the purchase order to ensure that all technical questions and possible changes to customer requirements have been accounted for, update Eaton’s electrical drawings as well as any additional costs from customer changes (this post sale stage is approximately 35% of the engineer’s time)
Manage any customer reported quality issues by submitting a Customer Quality Management (CQM) to the warranty contact at the plant and follow up to ensure timely resolution (15% of this role’s time)
Preview and provide technical feedback on product literature developed by product line
Proactively communicate customer needs to the product lines to highlight market gaps and needs and make recommendations for product enhancements and offerings to stakeholders
Develop a knowledge base of product information, help technically train and onboard new engineers on the team
Provide external customer training on products, processes, and resources as appropriate
Provide back-up for team members (Knowledge of multiple customer requirements)
Document activities and customer/field communications through the Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
Manage profitability of orders by ensuring that Eaton realizes an expense for any changes initiated by the customer
Generate and contribute to best practices; document and communicate best practices within team and/or site
Effectively communicate product value proposition and product line strategies to our customers and sales engineers by recommending the appropriate products for the customers’ applications
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Minimum three (3) years of customer-facing experience
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical field from an accredited institution
Experience working with switchgear, controls or distribution products
Working knowledge of electrical products such as low voltage, medium voltage components and assemblies
Knowledge of customer specifications and electrical drawings
