Responsibilities
Produce timely and quality reports on local government meetings, community events, and breaking news in person
Write enterprise features, profiles, and human-interest stories relevant to our readers as assigned by the editor-in-chief
File concise and accurate reports on deadline (typically 2–4 stories per week)
Collaborate with the editor-in-chief to identify story ideas that reflect the concerns and experiences of our region
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
Excellent writing and reporting skills, with a portfolio of clips that demonstrate clarity, accuracy, and local focus
Must live within 30-40 minutes of Pine Plains, N.Y., with reliable transportation (car required)
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
Ability to take editorial direction and manage a wide range of assignments across beats
Familiarity with AP style
Excellent photography skills
