Responsibilities
Design and Architecture: Develop and maintain the server-side logic, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the frontend
Database Management: Work with databases, primarily Postgres, to design schemas, write queries, and optimize performance
Security: Implement security and data protection measures to safeguard sensitive information
Testing and Debugging: Conduct unit testing and debugging to ensure the backend code is robust and error-free
Qualification
Required
5+ years Ruby/Rails experience
3+ years Unix (or equivalent) experience
2+ years experience with PostgreSQL
2+ years experience with Ruby unit testing frameworks (e.g. rspec)
Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, SQS, etc)
Strong sense of ownership and a hunger to learn
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Must be flexible and able to pivot as needs and importance of projects change
Positive, team-first attitude is vital for this role
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Work authorization in the United States and based in the US
