Responsibilities
Design and perform a variety of examinations of specimens for the presence of diseases and pathological conditions; prepare culture media, incubate and culture bacteria, stain slides, perform molecular biology techniques, electrophoresis, and work with experimental animals
Supervise junior members in the lab
Assist PI for writing publications and grant applications
Perform all other job-related duties as assigned by P.I
Qualification
Required
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other natural, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science, or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research
OR
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other natural, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years of research basic science, or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, multi-tasking, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines despite often interruptions, keep accurate records and make independent decisions
Preferred
Previous supervisory experience
