The role involves providing clinical care, leading a multi-disciplinary team, and participating in teaching, research, and service activities.

Responsibilities

Teaching: Faculty member will have teaching responsibilities in the area of Hematology/Oncology Psychology. Faculty member will provide guidance and mentorship to Residents and Chief Residents in the area of Hematology/Oncology Psychology
Research: Faculty member will have experience in securing revenue through grants and contracts and will serve as a research mentor to other members of the division and the department of Pediatrics
Service: Faculty member will serve on departmental or School of Medicine level committees when appropriate, as well as professional through journal review, conference presentations, etc
Clinical: Faculty member will serve as a Psychologist in the Division of Hematology/Oncology. The division provides clinical care to both inpatient and outpatient arenas

Qualification

Doctoral degree in psychologyClinical care experienceTeaching experienceProgrammatic developmentAdvocacy experienceGrant writingProfessionalismLeadership skillsMentorship skills

Required

Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA or CPA-approved program, including an APA or CPA-approved internship
Experience with clinical care of patients ages birth to 21
Experience with education of house-staff, medical students, and others
Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU

Preferred

Experience in programmatic development/leadership
Sub-board and or additional graduate degree
Experience with advocacy at local, state, and national level
Success in generating revenue (grants/contracts)
