Veterans Service Representative
Veterans Education Transition & Employment Services is dedicated to serving Virginia's veterans and their families. The Veterans Service Representative will advocate for veterans, assisting them in navigating benefits and educating them on available services.

Responsibilities
Serve Virginia’s veterans, their dependents and family members by ensuring they receive the benefits, support, quality care, and recognition they have earned through their service and sacrifice
To advocate for and assist veterans and their dependents in the preparation, presentation, and prosecution of all lawful and ethical veterans claims for benefits to which they are entitled
To educate veterans and dependents on the services and benefits offered by Virginia and the federal government
Qualification
Required
Ability to interpret complex laws and regulations and apply to casework
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Customer service and public speaking skills
Some overnight travel and regular community outreach to include some weekends or holidays is required
REAL ID is required for employment as a part of the federal prerequisites for USDVA Accreditation
Preferred
Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to veterans' benefits
Experience with the military and / or military veteran communities
