Environment, Health and Safety Manager
SAVI EHS is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee safety operations on a major data center construction project in Aldie, Virginia. The role involves leading safety management activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining a proactive safety culture across multiple contractors.
Responsibilities
Lead daily safety management activities, including site inspections, compliance monitoring, and oversight of high-risk operations
Deliver orientations, toolbox talks, and targeted safety training to reinforce project safety expectations
Facilitate daily hazard analysis (DHA/JHA) meetings and proactively identify and mitigate potential risks
Direct incident investigations, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Evaluate and enforce contractor safety programs to ensure alignment with OSHA standards and project-specific requirements
Partner with project leadership to strengthen a 'Zero-Incident' safety culture through coaching and accountability
Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation, safety reports, and compliance records
Provide oversight for crane operations, critical lifts, confined space entries, energized work, and other high-risk scopes
Track and analyze safety performance metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
5+ years of construction safety experience
Strong leadership capabilities
Proven field management experience
Ability to coordinate safety compliance across multiple contractors in a fast-paced environment
Strong decision-making skills
Strategic oversight
Hands-on field engagement
Preferred
5+ years of construction safety experience, including supervisory/management responsibilities; data center or industrial experience strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard analysis methods, and risk mitigation techniques
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital safety reporting tools
Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence all levels of field personnel
Certifications: OSHA 30 required; OSHA 510 or higher-level credentials preferred (OSHA 500, CHST, CSM, etc.)
Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
