Responsibilities
Design, implement, and operate resilient, planet-scale identity infrastructure that handles billions of authentication and authorization requests daily
Drive runtime efficiency through deep analysis of performance, cost, and reliability metrics across multi-region deployments
Lead architectural decisions for distributed systems that support service hardening, security compliance, and operational excellence
Partner with teams across Microsoft Security to integrate and evolve platform capabilities to meet evolving product and regulatory requirements
Mentor engineers, championing a culture of inclusion, engineering rigor, and continuous improvement
Participate in on-call rotations, live site reviews, and incident analysis to improve system health and team learning
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Preferred
2+ years of experience with Kubernetes as a platform engineer, especially managing production clusters for large scale and/or multi-tenant use
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
