This role combines technical design leadership, project management, and client-facing estimating, ensuring code-compliant, high-quality fire alarm systems that protect lives and property.

Responsibilities
Lead fire alarm projects from pre-construction through closeout
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources
Coordinate procurement, installation progress, and inspections
Ensure compliance with NFPA, IBC, and local AHJ requirements
Identify and resolve design or installation challenges proactively
Review, approve, and oversee fire alarm system designs
Collaborate with drafting teams using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools
Provide technical guidance on system layout, equipment selection, and efficiency
Ensure all designs meet regulatory, client, and operational requirements
Prepare detailed cost estimates and client proposals
Analyze labor, material, and subcontractor pricing for competitive bids
Maintain estimating databases, pricing models, and production benchmarks
Serve as primary client point of contact throughout project lifecycle
Conduct site evaluations and maintain proactive client communication
Identify upsell opportunities and support business development efforts
Lead company-wide fire alarm design processes
Mentor and support internal design team members
Introduce tools, workflows, and best practices to improve design efficiency
Travel approximately 2–4 days per month for site visits, client meetings, and project milestones
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
5+ years of experience in fire alarm system project management and design
Required certifications: F-Card
NICET
OSHA 30
Lift Certification
CPR
Siemens or equivalent fire alarm programming certification
Strong knowledge of fire alarm codes and standards (NFPA, IBC, local codes)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fire alarm design software
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Willingness to travel and work independently
