Hormel Foods Corporation is a global branded food company based in Austin, Minnesota. They are seeking an Industrial Engineer Intern to gain real-world experience by performing the duties of full-time industrial engineering counterparts, managing projects independently, and improving operational performance.

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, and implements effective and cost-efficient labor standards

Supports and maintains departmental production labor cost systems

Applies effective workplace designs to meet ergonomic/safety objectives

Initiates, supports, and justifies capital appropriation requests for projects and equipment

Identifies opportunities for cost reductions and efficiency improvements for the plant and works cross-functionally to implement these solutions

Contributes to plant-wide continuous improvement efforts through knowledge and implementation of the Hormel Production System

Required

Must graduate in August 2026, December 2026, or May 2027 and major in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology or a related field with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred

Demonstrated leadership, persuasive, initiative, analytical, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position

Possess a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit

Must be 18 years of age or older (all plant positions)

This position will require access to and/or the utilization of a personal motor vehicle to get to and from the workplace
