Research Associate- MCG-Immunology Center of GA

The Research Associate at the Immunology Center of Georgia will perform Bioinformatics analyses in the field of cardiovascular genomics and collaborate with other researchers to produce novel treatments for various diseases.

Responsibilities

Design and perform Bioinformatics analyses in the field of cardiovascular genomics, such as GWAS, molecular QTL, drug screening, biomarker identification, precision medicine, Single-cell RNA and ATACseq, and Single-cell CRISPR screening techniques
Maintains research database, communicates well with other laboratory members, and works well as part of a team
Collaborating with computational and wet-lab biologists for mechanism elucidation
Preparing written and oral presentations of results for the team and the public
Maintaining and organizing large amounts of genetic data and summary statistics
Supervise junior members in the lab
Assist PI for writing publications and grant applications
Perform all other job-related duties as assigned by P.I

Required

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other natural, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science, or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research
OR
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other natural, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years of research and/or clinical experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented
Ability to maintain confidentiality
