Electric Standards and Strategy Engineer
Pacific Gas and Electric Company is seeking an Electric Standards and Strategy Engineer to support their Electric Engineering department. This role involves providing strategy, engineering, operations, maintenance, and technical implementation support for distribution line SCADA/Automation systems.

Responsibilities
Conduct engineering analyses, studies and review project scope for standards compliance
Develop and implement PG&E’s electric transmission asset strategy
Interprets and applies applicable codes and regulations
Perform, document and publish equipment ratings
Assist other engineers, team members, and supervisor by developing, compiling, and providing technical data
Update and manage databases as required
Prepare or support incident investigations, equipment failure analyses and reliability studies
Comply with FERC, CPUC, CAISO and other regulations and requirements
Communicate with regulators, customers and other external stakeholders to advance PG&E’s objectives
Qualification
Required
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited curriculum in the US or the equivalent from outside the US
3 years of cumulative experience in electrical engineering, planning and/or operations
Preferred
Current and active California PE license
Able to apply basic power engineering principles and theory
Assess and recommend solutions for routine projects
Familiarity with electric distribution systems
Experience or comfort with tools such as Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint, ET-GIS
Background in six sigma process
Work easily with data to find trends
Knowledge of reliability metrics such as SAIDI and SAIFI
