Amrize is shaping North America and is seeking an Equipment Operator to contribute to safe and efficient excavation operations. The role involves operating heavy equipment, conducting maintenance, and ensuring safety at excavation sites.

Responsibilities

Operate excavators to dig trenches, foundations, and other earthmoving tasks safely and efficiently

Load and unload materials such as soil, rocks, and debris using excavator attachments

Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal equipment functioning

Collaborate with site supervisors and crew members to coordinate excavation activities

Follow site plans, blueprints, and safety guidelines to meet project specifications

Monitor excavation sites for hazards and report safety concerns or equipment malfunctions immediately

Assist with backfilling, grading, and site cleanup after excavation activities

Maintain accurate logs of work performed, including hours and maintenance activities

Promote a culture of safety by adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies

Required

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum 2 years operating excavators or heavy equipment on construction or excavation sites

Knowledge of excavation safety procedures and OSHA compliance standards

Ability to maneuver safely around underground utilities and structures

Basic mechanical knowledge for routine equipment inspections and minor repairs

Physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather conditions

Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team

Adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved PPE, including respirators where required (employees must be clean-shaven at the seal for fit tests)
