Information Systems Auditor I - Information Systems Audit Division

The N.C. Department of Information Technology is seeking an Information Systems Auditor I to help complete audits aimed at reducing risks associated with data management and IT systems. Responsibilities

Work as part of a team to direct and coordinate audits of a diverse range of IT topics and projects at entities that include state agencies, universities, and community colleges
Speak with auditees, agency management, and legislators to understand the IT systems under audit
Conduct on-side fieldwork, including information gathering and interviews, to determine risks impacting the system under audit and to identify processes and controls that mitigate IT security risks
Review and analyze source records and reports, programmatic data, financial or program documentation, and/or systems
Document the results of your work and any potential findings and recommendations

Required

A bachelor's degree with 24 semester hours in accounting and 12 semester hours in information technology or computer & information security from an appropriately accredited institution
A bachelor's degree with 24 semester hours in information technology or computer & information security and 12 semester hours in accounting/business from an appropriately accredited institution
An equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to learn and understand laws, regulations, and procedures, generally accepted accounting principles, technical and professional standards, including Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards and General Accepted Auditing Standards
Ability to learn and understand IT general and application controls to evaluate and review a range of mainframe, PC, and distributed environments
Ability to follow audit/investigative/review procedures as planned and review work for completeness and accuracy
