5+ years expOlive Recruiting is seeking a highly skilled International Airfreight Specialist on behalf of our freight forwarding client in the Cleveland market. This role is ideal for an experienced airfreight professional with strong import/export knowledge who can operate independently and contribute to a growing team.

Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of international airfreight shipments (import/export) from booking through final delivery
Prepare and process all required airfreight documentation including MAWB/HAWB, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, AES filings, etc
Coordinate with airlines, truckers, overseas agents, customs brokers, and clients to ensure timely and compliant cargo movement
Track and monitor shipments throughout transit and provide proactive communication and updates to customers, including occasional weekend or evening updates when needed
Ensure compliance with TSA, IATA, U.S. Customs, and all other governing regulations
Support customer needs with strong service, problem-solving, and attention to detail
Collaborate with internal team members and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
Learn and support ocean import operations if not already experienced
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5 years of airfreight import/export experience within a freight forwarding environment
Strong understanding of international air cargo processes, documentation, and regulations
Stable work history with longevity in prior roles (not multiple one-year transitions)
Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
Proven ability to manage shipments independently from A–Z
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and handle time-sensitive shipments
Preferred
Ocean import knowledge is a plus; willingness to learn is required
Proficiency with freight forwarding systems and carrier platforms preferred
