VSSI Staffing Services, LLC is seeking a Server Repair Technician responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and replacing parts on servers. The role involves inspecting and diagnosing server issues, collaborating with various teams, and maintaining a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

Inspect, test, and diagnose servers

Replace parts as needed

Conduct and analyze server stress tests

Document all symptoms, test results, and parts replaced in shop floor tool

Collaborate with motherboard repair, motherboard testing, QC, and inspections personnel

Provide back up for QC, inspection, and motherboard testing

Maintain parts consumption

Other duties as assigned by leadership

Maintain and nurture positive work environment

Work and collaborate with other teams such as warehouse, shipping, receiving, etc

Follow process for system and parts managements

Required

Experience in programming languages like Linux and some server or repair experience in general is required

Know the basics of server architecture

Know how to assemble components to make server functional

Run and understand testing diagnostics

Understand basic networking architecture

Understand basic error codes

Able to troubleshoot common server errors and issues

Motivated to solve problems

Interested in constantly learning about servers and networking?

Education: high school diploma or equivalent technical experience; certifications in Server support and architecture desired

Experience: troubleshooting and diagnosing servers; experience with computer tools such as email, spreadsheets, and call tracking or shop repair tools

Experience with replacing parts on servers

Experience with server configuration

Good written and verbal skills—needs to document errors and repairs

Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to sit and stand for long periods of time

Employees must be able to lift objects that weigh up to 30 pounds

Must be able to tolerate moderate to high noise level in a warehouse environment

Must be able to work in hot or cold weather conditions
