Responsibilities
Assist in the review, tracking, and archiving of subdivision allotment plans, site plans and surveys
Prepare quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates
Perform construction inspection and prepare daily field reports
Document and report non-conforming materials or workmanship
Assist in mapping storm sewer systems and inspecting stormwater outfalls
Respond to requests and inquiries from the public, other departments and agencies
Perform other related duties as necessary or as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology from an accredited college
Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a civil design or heavy construction field
Five (5) years of responsible experience in a closely related field
Written and oral communication skills
Ability to write reports, emails, and spreadsheets
Familiarity with surveying, construction standards or inspection procedures
Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications and construction drawings
Ability to interact with designers, contractors, the public and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner
Ability to maintain effective working relationships
Ability to traverse uneven terrain and to work outside in inclement weather (hot, cold, rain)
Possession of a valid driver's license and good driving record
