Responsibilities
Independently manage a portfolio of mass tort cases from intake through resolution
Draft and argue dispositive motions, Daubert motions, and complex briefing
Lead written discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
Conduct and defend fact and expert depositions
Participate in trial preparation, and trial support
Evaluate liability, causation, and damages issues across large case inventories
Develop litigation strategies in coordination with partners and trial counsel
Analyze expert reports and collaborate with retained experts
Identify and resolve legal and procedural issues unique to mass tort litigation
Advise clients on case status, strategy, and settlement considerations
Assist with settlement evaluation, negotiation, and administration
Support intake review and case vetting for new mass tort matters
Mentor junior associates and paralegals
Supervise discovery workflows and case management processes
Contribute to firm-wide litigation standards, templates, and best practices
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (additional jurisdictions a plus)
6–10+ years of litigation experience, with substantial exposure to mass tort, products liability, or complex civil litigation
Demonstrated experience with MDLs and coordinated proceedings
Demonstrated experience with expert discovery and Daubert challenges
Demonstrated experience with high-volume case management
Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and matters independently
Preferred
Trial experience, including second-chair or first-chair roles
Experience with plaintiff-side mass tort practice
Familiarity with e-discovery platforms and litigation technology
