Responsibilities
Review and optimize MongoDB architecture and design
Support deployments, upgrades, and platform enhancements
Perform performance tuning and troubleshooting across application, database, OS, and storage layers
Act as a senior escalation point for production issues
Validate disaster recovery and failover readiness
Deliver operational documentation and conduct knowledge transfer sessions
Qualification
Required
MongoDB Expertise: Deep experience with MongoDB Enterprise and Community editions, including replica sets, sharding, WiredTiger tuning, schema design, security (TLS, RBAC), and end-to-end backup, recovery, and upgrade processes
Multi-Site Architecture: Proven experience with active/active and active/passive setups, disaster recovery planning, failover strategies, and failure domain design
Linux Systems: Strong tuning and optimization skills on RHEL, Rocky Linux, or Oracle Linux (NUMA, ulimits, XFS) for MongoDB workloads
Storage Integration: Expertise in block storage architecture, I/O isolation, snapshot usage, and performance troubleshooting with Pure Storage FlashArray
Automation & Monitoring: Proficiency with MongoDB CLI, scripting (Bash/Python), and monitoring/alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and MongoDB Ops Manager
