Responsibilities
Defend construction accident claims involving Labor Law §§ 240(1) and 241(6) from initial investigation through discovery
Draft and argue motions to dismiss scaffold and fall-related liability in NY Supreme and federal courts
Conduct depositions of site workers, safety experts, and OSHA investigators to establish contributory negligence
Prepare trial strategies including jury instructions and expert witness coordination for elevation defect cases
Analyze building code compliance and insurance policy triggers to mitigate multimillion-dollar exposures
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Admission to the New York State Bar
Experience in construction law and labor law
Strong litigation skills, including drafting and arguing motions
Ability to conduct depositions and prepare trial strategies
Knowledge of Labor Law §§ 240(1) and 241(6)
Experience with building code compliance and OSHA disputes
Strong analytical skills to assess insurance policy triggers
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Willingness to meet billable hour requirements
