Staff Engineer - Systems Engineering: Cost & Production

Responsibilities
Responsible for coordination between engineering and supply chain to meet program cost and delivery requirements
Conducts component and product integration. All activities that span multiple components and products and are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance and operability
Solves challenging technical and delivery issues and proactively applies learnings across product lines
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering
Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (or a similar discipline focused on mechanical design or aerothermal sciences) from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 6 years of experience in an engineering position
This role requires the successful candidate to maintain a US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. Citizenship. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold US Government Security Clearance
Preferred
Engineering experience with the design, manufacture, & assembly of complex hardware
Engineering experience in GE Aerospace systems integration or similar systems engineering role
Experience in engine certification or qualification
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
Strong oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal and leadership skills
High level of computer proficiency
Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering related to turbomachinery design, testing, or systems engineering
Talented, highly motivated with good engineering judgment
Effective in contributing in a structured, cross functional team work environment
