Community Outreach and Administrative Intern
BCFS Health & Human Services is dedicated to making a positive impact on vulnerable populations. The Community Outreach & Administrative Intern supports community engagement initiatives and administrative functions, contributing to outreach efforts aimed at increasing awareness of human trafficking and strengthening community partnerships.

Responsibilities
Assist in outreach to specialized professionals and populations at risk for trafficking
Represent BCFS HHS – Common Thread – TX at outreach events and resource fairs
Support awareness campaigns and prevention activities
Assist in the development and design of outreach and training materials
Support preparation of community awareness and professional training content
Research best practices in trafficking prevention and survivor services
Assist in sustaining the volunteer engagement program
Support volunteer recognition initiatives
Track and verify volunteer hours in volunteer database
Provide general administrative assistance
Support special event planning and coordination
Assist with in-kind initiatives and logistics
Support documentation and reporting tasks
Create a bibliography of current research on human trafficking
Support program planning and innovation initiatives
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Public Health, Communications, Sociology, or related field
Experience working with vulnerable youth, survivors, or trauma-impacted populations
Demonstrated leadership or supervisory capacity through academics or professional experience
Pass all required background checks and screenings
Participate in all program trainings
Demonstrate strong communication, emotional regulation, organization, and leadership potential
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Pass required criminal background and child abuse registry checks
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills
Exhibit professionalism, reliability, and strong work ethic
Willingness to accept direction from program staff
Arrive on time for all assigned shifts
Complete tasks within assigned timelines
Commit to weekly supervision meetings
Participate in weekly team meetings
Preferred
Completion of at least 60 academic credit hours preferred
