Computer Aided Design Technician

Staffmark is a recruiting partner seeking a CAD Technician who will support engineering and sales teams by preparing proposals, contracts, and fabrication drawings. The role involves creating detailed CAD drawings and models, performing calculations, and collaborating with design staff to ensure project accuracy and completeness.

Responsibilities

Create detailed CAD drawings and models using AutoCAD and custom software
Develop fabrication, proposal, and contract drawings from site plans and engineering specs
Perform calculations to determine critical dimensions and design requirements
Produce bills of material as needed to support manufacturing and installation
Review design information, manuals, and site plans to ensure accuracy and completeness
Collaborate with design staff to clarify requirements, modifications, and technical issues
Prioritize and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines
Submit drawings for peer review and design staff approval
Maintain and develop standard and custom details across multiple product families
Coordinate with operations, fabrication facilities, customer service, and engineers
Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a collaborative team
Occasionally visit manufacturing facilities or installation sites

Required

Associate degree or a combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience
Academic background and hands-on experience with AutoCAD; strong proficiency in current versions
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Strong math skills and technical aptitude
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, engineering concepts, and site plans
High attention to detail in environments with changing priorities and deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and interact with cross-functional groups
Ability to safely navigate manufacturing facilities or job sites and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
