Tier 2 RAN Operations Support Engineer

Responsibilities

Own and manage customer issues reported via reports, email, and phone
Lead Sev1 and Sev2 outage management from detection through resolution
Manage low-severity trouble tickets , ensuring on-time completion and customer updates
Provide on-site technical support at customer locations when required
Develop, validate, and execute Methods of Procedure (MOPs)
Perform advanced troubleshooting and data analysis
Analyze network events and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to prevent repeat issues
Coordinate with Engineering and HQ to finalize and deliver RCAs to customers
Develop customer-specific monitoring and performance reports for TAC use
Work independently with limited supervision while meeting SLA expectations
Understand how vendor equipment integrates within the customer’s network for effective troubleshooting

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
2+ years in a TAC / Tier 2 support role or equivalent telecom support experience
Experience managing trouble tickets and coordinating across multiple work groups
Hands-on troubleshooting of SS7, IS41, MEGACO, SIP signaling networks
Call processing experience, preferably in a wireless network
User-level experience with UNIX / Linux commands
Basic knowledge of IP networking (routers, VLANs, protocols)
Basic understanding of transport/backhaul technologies (T1, SONET, Microwave)

Preferred

Knowledge of 4G and 5G technologies
Cisco CCNA certification
Experience supporting a telecommunications vendor environment
Familiarity with Sprint and Verizon Wireless networks
