Head Appellate Counsel-Executive Director

They are seeking a Head Appellate Counsel to provide administrative and strategic leadership for the Office of Appellate Counsel and Training, responsible for appellate representation and training for juvenile protection matters.

Responsibilities
Provide administrative and strategic leadership for the Office of Appellate Counsel and Training
Implement OACT strategic vision
Advocate for appropriate public and private responses to policies
Perform the executive duties as outlined in Minnesota Statute (260C.419)
Qualification
Required
Possession of a Juris Doctorate (J.D.)
Current license in good standing to practice law in the State of Minnesota
Knowledge of juvenile protection matters
Knowledge of the legislative process
Knowledge of and ability to interpret Minnesota statutes, policies and rules
At least five (5) years of professional and progressive leadership experience sufficient to lead a small agency including:
Knowledge in principles of administrative management sufficient to plan, organize, and direct human and fiscal resources to achieve full productivity under changing circumstances
Knowledge and experience with project management and/or strategic planning

Preferred
Experience leading a new initiative that includes integration with numerous partners
Ability to prepare a variety of reports and press releases
Experience with budget management
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of public policy analysis and development
Experience developing comprehensive training program
