Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and support Linux and Windows server environments
Support and operate Secure File Transfer platforms for internal teams and external partners
Install new software releases, system upgrades, patches, and hotfixes
Monitor system performance, configurations, and data integrity
Perform system backups, restores, and disaster recovery tasks
Troubleshoot system, file transfer, and network-related issues; escalate when required
Maintain and update system documentation, configurations, and operational procedures
Assist in modernizing file transfer infrastructure using cloud-native technologies
Support automation, integrations, and data processing using APIs and scripting
Ensure secure data transfers using encryption, certificates, and key management best practices
Collaborate with cross-functional infrastructure, security, and network teams
Qualification
Required
3–4 years of Linux System Administration experience
Windows Server administration experience in a mixed OS environment
Strong hands-on experience with Secure File Transfer protocols: SFTP, HTTPS, FTPS, AS2
Experience with file share technologies: Windows SMB/CIFS, Linux NFS, NAS and general file server administration
Basic to intermediate networking knowledge, including: TCP/IP, ports, firewalls, Routing and switching fundamentals
Exposure to cloud platforms (currently GCP preferred, cloud-agnostic mindset encouraged)
Preferred
Experience managing Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms, such as: AWS Transfer Family, Cleo, GoAnywhere, Ipswitch, MOVEit, Axway
Experience with file transfer clients: FileZilla, WinSCP, Linux command line tools
Understanding of cloud storage technologies, including S3-compatible storage
Knowledge of SSL/TLS and SSH security, including: Certificates, Public/private key pairs, Certificate authorities, Encryption ciphers
Scripting experience: Bash, PowerShell, Java (other scripting or programming languages are a plus)
Experience or exposure to virtualization and container technologies
Understanding of authentication and identity services: Active Directory, LDAP, SAML
Familiarity with load balancers and load-balancing concepts
Clear, concise, and professional communication skills
Strong work ethic with a high level of accountability
Ability to stay focused, present, and productive during work hours
Reliable, dependable, and responsive in a hybrid work environment
Ability to document work clearly and follow established procedures
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when required
