Project Manager - Mechanical / Plumbing

The Project Manager (Mechanical/Plumbing) will oversee the execution of mechanical and plumbing construction projects, managing procurement, cost control, and ensuring project delivery aligns with contract specifications.
Responsibilities
Review mechanical and plumbing project estimates and verify accuracy of scope, quantities, and job cost setup
Lead pre-construction, pre-job, and ongoing planning meetings to ensure alignment on mechanical/plumbing scope, contract requirements, schedules, and risk items
Manage manpower planning in coordination with Superintendents to ensure labor aligns with production schedules
Execute subcontractor and equipment buyouts specific to mechanical and plumbing trades, ensuring cost, schedule, and quality alignment
Perform regular jobsite visits to oversee progress, inspect work, and proactively resolve technical, contractual, and constructability issues
Review, analyze, and price change orders related to mechanical and plumbing scope, including material takeoffs and labor impacts
Track, forecast, and manage job costs, billings, and cash flow throughout the project lifecycle
Interpret and apply mechanical and plumbing drawings, specifications, and codes with a high level of accuracy
Partner with Superintendents to support day-to-day field operations, production planning, and issue resolution
Maintain strong communication with owners, general contractors, vendors, and internal teams
Qualification
Required
6+ years of experience in mechanical and/or plumbing construction, with direct responsibility managing projects
Proven experience managing mechanical and/or plumbing scopes on commercial construction projects (HVAC, piping, plumbing, hydronic systems, etc.)
Strong working knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems, construction sequencing, scheduling, and procurement
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical and plumbing drawings, specifications, and contract documents
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Procore or similar construction management platforms preferred
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to active job sites as required
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
Experience working for a mechanical or plumbing contractor (vs. general construction only)
Familiarity with design-build and negotiated work delivery methods
