Confidential is a fast-growing, middle-market investment bank seeking a Managing Director to lead origination and sector development. The role involves driving business development, overseeing M&A transactions, and shaping firm strategy while working within a collaborative culture.

Marketing & Advertising

Responsibilities

Lead origination efforts within a defined sector (Healthcare Services or Industrials preferred)
Drive business development with founders, PE firms, lenders, attorneys and other COIs
Position the firm as a go-to advisor through thought leadership, conferences, and relationship networks
Oversee end-to-end execution of M&A and capital-raising transactions with support from an experienced internal team
Serve as the senior advisor to founder-led and family-owned companies during critical strategic events
Help shape firm strategy, sector positioning, and culture as the platform continues to grow

Qualification

Investment Banking ExperienceOrigination SuccessSector ExpertiseBusiness DevelopmentEntrepreneurial MindsetCollaborative Culture

Required

10+ years of investment banking experience, with a strong track record in the lower middle market (typical EV <$500M)
Demonstrated origination success, winning mandates and closing transactions over multiple years
Experience working with founder-owned, family-owned and PE-backed businesses
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and own a sector franchise
Strong cultural orientation toward collaboration over silos

Preferred

Sector expertise in Healthcare Services and/or Industrials
Michigan-based or willing to maintain regular in-person presence
Candidates in major Tier 2 hub markets (e.g., Minneapolis, Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, etc.) will be considered with consistent travel to Michigan
