Northwell Health is seeking a Supply Chain Representative to facilitate the procurement of pharmaceuticals, equipment, and supplies for the Pharmacy. The role involves inventory control activities, reviewing contracts, and ensuring adequate supplies are maintained.

Responsibilities

Reviews hospital and group purchasing contracts on an ongoing basis; utilizes contracts in purchasing activities, unless otherwise directed

Identifies and informs management of products not currently under contract

Determines par stock levels based on usage to ensure adequate supplies or pharmaceuticals in inventory

Reviews pharmacy orders sheets and actual inventory when preparing orders for pharmaceuticals, supplies, and equipment

Prepares and places orders in advance to minimize short supply situations

Reviews received orders with inventory staff to identify and correct any discrepancies, as required; keeps management informed

Collaborates with department staff to promote efficient inventory control activities

Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for medication procurement from other hospitals in emergency situations

Participates in in-service educational activities related to department activities and inventory management, as required
