Total Rewards Manager
AIRSYS USA is seeking a strategic and hands-on Total Rewards Manager to architect, implement, and manage a world-class compensation, benefits, and equity strategy for its Americas region. This role is pivotal to the company's growth in the U.S., requiring expertise in total rewards frameworks and the ability to align them with business objectives while advising the executive team.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute the total rewards strategy for the Americas, ensuring alignment with global principles and local business needs
Design, implement, and maintain all core compensation structures, including salary ranges, geographic differentials, and leveling frameworks, utilizing rigorous market data to ensure competitiveness
Own the job architecture and leveling framework for the region, ensuring consistent job evaluation and equitable positioning
Lead the annual compensation planning cycle (merit, promotions, market adjustments, bonus), including budget modeling and calculation, communication, and execution
Participate to design, administer, and communicate all short-term incentive plans (sales commissions, annual bonus plans)
Participate company's global equity compensation programs in the Americas. Manage end-to-end administration, partner with finance and legal on compliance (SEC, IRS 409A), and lead employee education
Support executive compensation processes, including benchmarking, proposal development, and preparation of materials for the Compensation Committee as needed
Act as the business process owner for the Total Rewards modules within the US HRIS, driving configuration, enhancements, and data integrity
Own the complete U.S. payroll process. This includes collecting and validating inputs, calculating salaries/wages, processing bonus & commission payments, handling equity income withholdings, and ensuring accurate and timely bi-weekly payments through HRIS. Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, and local tax and wage/hour regulations. Manage year-end activities (W-2s) and serve as the primary point for audits and inquiries
Ensure accurate monthly reconciliation of payroll accounts and provide necessary reports and analysis (e.g., headcount, labor cost, accruals, rolling forecast, etc.) to the Finance team
Develop dashboards and analytics to provide insights on compensation trends, budget utilization, program effectiveness, and ROI
Develop a forward-looking benefits strategy through annual benchmarking and in-depth analysis of market trends, competitor practices, and employee feedback. Translate insights into actionable recommendations to enhance competitiveness and employee value proposition
Design, recommend, and manage a competitive and cost-effective benefits portfolio (health, welfare, retirement, wellness, and voluntary benefits)
Manage relationships with brokers, insurers, and consultants to optimize plan design, employee experience, and financial sustainability. Lead the annual renewal and negotiation process
Ensure all plans comply with federal and state regulations (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, etc.)
Oversee all aspects of the U.S. 401(k) retirement plan, including competitive design (e.g., match formula, investment options), vendor management, ERISA compliance, annual non-discrimination (ADP/ACP) testing and Form 5500 filing, and employee communication and education
Serve as the in-house expert on all U.S. federal, state, and local compensation and benefits laws (FLSA, pay equity/transparency, minimum wage, etc.)
Establish and enforce robust internal controls, including segregation of duties for payroll approval
Proactively conduct pay equity analyses and address any identified gaps. Manage related audits and reporting requirements
Partner closely with the global HR team and Americas HRBPs to ensure seamless strategy execution and operational support
Advise and coach senior leaders and people managers on all total rewards matters
Qualification
Required
10+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in Payroll and Total Rewards, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior individual contributor role directly supporting the U.S. market
Direct, end-to-end ownership experience in designing and implementing compensation structures and job leveling frameworks
Managing the annual compensation planning cycle (merit, bonus, budgeting)
Administering health & welfare benefits and fully managing a 401(k) plan (design, compliance testing, 5500 filing)
Processing U.S. payroll from data input to payment, reconciliation, and tax compliance
Supporting or managing equity-based compensation programs (RSUs, Options)
Deep, practical knowledge of U.S. federal and state regulations governing compensation, benefits (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA), and payroll (taxation, wage & hour). Expertise in pay equity analysis and compliance
Technical & Analytical Proficiency: Advanced skills in data analysis, financial modeling, and interpreting compensation surveys. High proficiency with HRIS (system administration experience a plus) and payroll systems (e.g., ADP)
Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of accounting principles related to payroll (accruals, reconciliations) and the ability to partner effectively with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
Strategic & Operational Balance: Ability to develop high-level strategy while being willing and able to execute tactical processes with precision (a 'player-coach' mindset)
Ownership & Accountability: Proven track record of taking full end-to-end responsibility for deliverables, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all tasks, from payroll runs to board-level reporting
Influential Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly to executives, managers, and employees
Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Demonstrated success in building trust and working effectively with a geographically dispersed team, particularly with a headquarters or major partner in a different cultural region (e.g., Asia-Pacific). Be able to take cross-time zone communication. Able to work well in a global and multi-culture environment is preferred
Problem-Solving & Compliance Focus: A proactive, detail-oriented approach to identifying risks, solving problems, and establishing robust controls to ensure 100% compliance
Change Leadership & Agility: Proven ability to design and lead the implementation of new programs in a fast-paced, evolving 'scale-up' environment. Manages ambiguity and resistance effectively
Unquestionable Ethics & Discretion: Possesses the highest level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality required to handle extremely sensitive compensation, equity, and payroll data. Must demonstrate sound judgment and maintain strict confidence in all matters
