Environmental Engineering Technician I

Waséyabek Development Company is focused on providing high quality environmental services and is seeking an Environmental Engineering Technician I to join their team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The role involves conducting environmental due diligence reports and participating in field work, including data collection and documentation for remediation sites.

Financial Services

Responsibilities

Collect data and document field conditions for our remediation sites. This includes: preparation and cleaning of equipment, operation of field sampling pumps and monitoring instruments, collection of soil, groundwater and soil gas samples, surveying, logging of soil borings, groundwater monitoring well installations, collection of field results and monitoring, documentation of field event, preparation of samples for laboratory pick-up
Participate in a predominance of field work with out-of-town travel and overnight stays
Develop tables, figures, and a variety of reports/documents for our remediation department
Follow company safety standards, participate in safety training, and prepare and implement site safety plans

Required

Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Geology, or a related field from an accredited institution
0 to 3 years' experience in a related field
Proficiency in Microsoft word, excel, and outlook
Excellent communication skills, both written and orally, with project managers, clients, and other staff
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects at the same time
Ability to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds
Ability to pass an extensive background investigation and pre-employment drug screen, including but not limited to personal and professional financial history, nationwide criminal record search, motor vehicle records, credit check and other relevant background information deemed necessary by WDC

Preferred

OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER preferred but not required
