Responsibilities
Plan and execute z/OS upgrades , maintenance, IPLs, and PTF/APAR application using SMP/E
Install, configure, and support ISV products (Broadcom/CA, BMC, IBM, Rocket)
Monitor and tune system performance using RMF, SMF, Omegamon, WLM
Manage PARMLIBs, system datasets, JES2/JES3, and storage components
Provide expert-level incident support and participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
Develop automation using REXX, JCL, TSO/ISPF
Support Disaster Recovery and ensure high availability
Enforce mainframe security (RACF / ACF2 / Top Secret) and compliance
Mentor junior systems programmers
Qualification
Required
15+ years of Mainframe z/OS Systems Programming experience
Strong expertise in z/OS installation, upgrades, and performance tuning
Hands-on experience with ISV tools (Security, Scheduling, Storage, DB2/IMS)
Proficiency in JCL, SMP/E, JES2/JES3, REXX
Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, VTAM, and Parallel Sysplex
Preferred
Parallel Sysplex, z/VM, Linux on Z
Mainframe modernization or hybrid cloud exposure
z/OS or mainframe-related certifications
