The Facility Quality Assurance Technician supports HWI’s mission by testing products and raw materials, ensuring quality standards are met, and accurately entering data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Responsibilities

Verify in process production

Performs physical testing of finished goods

Performs final inspections

Enters LIMS data into appropriate systems and judges acceptability of product

Screens analysis of raw materials and mixes

Sample preparation

Performs additional testing as required

Required

Requires high school diploma and one (1) year of college education or technical training with emphasis on math and science

Requires computer operation aptitude (MS Office and LIMS system or similar products)

Requires abilities to follow directions, provide innovative solutions, and both work independently or as a team member

Requires knowledge of refractory industry and quality assurance

Requires less than 1/3 of time sitting, climbing/balancing, and stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling

Requires 1/3 to 2/3 of time walking, using hands and fingers, reaching, and speaking/hearing

Requires more than 2/3 of time standing

Requires lifting up to 25 pounds 1/3 to 2/3 of time, and lifting up to 50 pounds more than 2/3 of time

Requires accurate close vision, color vision, and the ability to focus
