The Senior Product Development Engineer is responsible for designing new products and redesigning existing ones while ensuring compliance with safety certifications and quality standards. Responsibilities
Design new products and redesign existing products, meeting engineering standards, applicable codes, customer specifications, and within cost constraints
Review and interpret customer specifications and requests
Ensure conformance to all required safety certifications (ie, UL, NSF, CE), and company standards for quality and manufacturability
Utilizes future-forward thinking with the company’s goals in mind when developing new products
Manages their project(s) from start to finish while providing updates to leadership
Create product models and design layouts in the computerized system
Review drawings for critical dimensions, views and specifications when required
Assist in developing timely solutions to product development, manufacturing floor and technical support questions
Evaluate/select components for products based on the appropriate specifications and certifications
Assist in training team members to meet established standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Design Engineering or equivalent experience
3+ years of mechanical engineering experience and in new product development
Experience in 3D CAD Modeling
Strong knowledge of engineering and quality methodologies (DFMEA, Design Reviews, Tolerance Stack-Ups)
Proven leadership skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Professional attitude when approaching work assignments
Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and complex tasks
