They are seeking a Senior OSP Design Engineer to provide technical support across engineering, permitting, and quality control functions while mentoring team members and ensuring project delivery standards are met.

Responsibilities

Analyze demographics and ROI to estimate 'cost per passing' and develop high-level conceptual designs for grant applications and marketing

Use GIS/CAD to design transport, feeder, and distribution routes, selecting the best aerial or buried paths based on cost and constructability

Interpret utility maps and survey data to produce construction drawings, staking sheets, and Bills of Materials (BOM)

Conduct field walks to validate design accuracy, document pole details, and identify utility conflicts

Provide real-time design adjustments for construction crews and offer technical guidance on splicing and staking documents

Capture field redlines and data to ensure final records reflect actual 'as-built' conditions

Audit designs, BOMs, and splicing plans against industry codes (NESC, NEC) and client-specific standards

Maintain QA/QC checklists and provide feedback/coaching to design teams to reduce discrepancies

Ensure all deliverables meet permitting requirements and evolving engineering standards

Manage milestones and deliverables to ensure on-time submission of design packages

Maintain and organize GIS, CAD, and shapefile documentation

Serve as the technical bridge between internal teams, construction partners, and clients regarding design changes
